About Us
Open Door Fellowship started in 1984 as an outgrowth of Bear Valley Baptist Church of Lakewood, Colorado. Today Open Door is a diverse group of Christians committed to the urban landscape of Denver. Open Door has a particular passion for the vulnerable, the poor, and the disregarded of our city. From the economically depressed to the socially disgraced, Open Door seeks to bring God’s grace to people’s deepest needs. We are “a church with a heart for the city” that acts upon this passion in tangible ways.
Open Door Fellowship focuses on disciple-making. We believe that learning is a lifelong process, and that our most

important teacher is Jesus Christ. As Jesus-followers, we endeavor to encourage each other to grow in faith, hope, and love.
Open Door Fellowship is a multi-denominational protestant church affiliated with several major denominations. We value ethnic and racial diversity and desire to foster a multi-cultural environment. Our church includes the poor, the rich, and the in-between and we focus on our unity in Christ. Our church falls within the evangelical segment of the protestant church in America.
Open Door Fellowship works very closely with two large non-profit inner-city ministries: Providence Network (
www.providencenetwork.org) and Open Door Ministries (
www.odmdenver.org). Both organizations provide services to various segments of Denver’s urban poor.
